It is common to have guests and external people connect to a separate network than your internal users and Airtame. This might mean that you have to configure your network, so that each VLAN has access to Airtame.
We have illustrated and explained our recommended solutions for this here, together with network requirements that should be met: How to integrate Airtame into your Network.
Connect to Airtame - with or without the Airtame app
Native streaming protocols
Airtame supports Airplay, Google Cast and Miracast.
The support for native streaming protocols makes it easier for guest users to connect, as it does not require installation of any applications or software. They can just use the streaming option built into their PC, tablet or phone.
These streaming protocols are by default disabled on Airtame devices, so you would need to make sure they are enabled and ready for your guests to connect and present. Here is how to enable them: How to enable native streaming protocols.
Portable / Guest App
For users without administrator rights or users who will only be using Airtame once, you can use the Portable / Guest App. It doesn't need to be installed nor does it require administrator privileges.
MacOS users without administrator rights can download the software from here https://airtame.com/download/ and run the dmg files directly without dragging to the application folder.
For Windows users we have a 'Portable' version of the app that does not require an installation nor admin rights. You can download it from here https://airtame.com/download.
We have come across quite a few cases where our users would place the Portable app on a USB stick, this would allow the guest users to simply plug it into their computer and stream to the Airtame device by clicking on the Airtame application.
iOS and Android devices
For iPhone and iPad users, you can use the built-in AirPlay functionality provided this is enabled on your Airtame.
Airtime Download Mac
In case AirPlay is not available, you can use this app to present static files. Learn more about both functionalities here: Present to Airtame using iOS devices.
